U.S. attacks in Caribbean violate principles of int'l law: Venezuelan FM

CARACAS, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- The attacks carried out by U.S. military forces against vessels in the Caribbean Sea violate fundamental principles of international law, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil said on Thursday.

"Every one of the principles of international law as we know them has been violated," Gil stated in reference to the U.S. actions.

He described the U.S. operations as "vile murders," asserting that those killed in the attacks had not been proven to have committed any crimes.

Gil added that the U.S. actions in the Caribbean constitute a threat not only against Venezuela but also "against all humanity" and the UN system.
