Botswana celebrates double podium finish in men's 400m at Tokyo worlds

TOKYO, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Botswana's Busang Collen Kebinatshipi stormed to victory in the men's 400 meter final at the World Athletics Championships here on Thursday.

The 21-year-old, who helped Botswana to a silver medal in the 4x400m relay at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, delivered a powerful finish to secure his first individual world title.

Jereem Richards of Trinidad and Tobago claimed silver in 43.72 seconds, setting a new national record.

Bayapo Ndori, also from Botswana, finished third in a season's best 44.20 seconds to secure the bronze medal.
