WASHINGTON, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- The US men's national soccer team will open its 2021 schedule with a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago on January 31 at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
The match comes with the team gearing up for June's CONCACAF Nations League semifinals, the Gold Cup in July and the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying tournament, which kicks off in September.
"It's nice after an intensive training camp to get to compete," US coach Gregg Berhalter said. "The guys have been working hard and we welcome the opportunity to play against a regional rival like Trinidad and Tobago."
Due to COVID-19 containment measures, capacity for the match will be limited to 4,500. Fans will be required to wear face coverings to attend.
