Presidential candidates to stand together on 9/11
Trinidad News.Net Saturday 6th September, 2008
The US presidential rivals, Barack Obama and John McCain will appear together on the anniversary of Twin Tower attacks.
The senators have said they will take part in the 11th September commemoration in New York; the site of the major attack in 2001.
The two candidates said they would put aside politics to honour the memory of the nearly 3,000 people who died when planes were crashed into New York's Twin Towers, the Pentagon in Washington and a field in Pennsylvania.
It will be the first time McCain and Obama have been together since they were formally nominated as presidential candidates at their parties' just-completed national conventions.
Meanwhile, the Republican National convention may have helped presidential nominee Senator MCCain to recoup some of his losses in public support, according to Gallup polls.
Its latest tracking poll of the presidential race shows Democratic nominee Barack Obama still leading, 48 percent to McCain's 44 percent.
That compares with Obama's 49 percent-42 percent lead on Friday and or 8 points lead he held over the past week.
Gallup says the new numbers have margins of error of 2 percentage points.
Two weeks ago, before the two parties' back-to-back conventions, the tracking poll showed Obama and McCain in a tie.

TIME IS CLOSE WHEN THESE CRIMINALS WILL BE ROTTEN WITH THEIR GENERATIONS
This PNAC group was led by such heavy hitters as Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, James Woolsey, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Bill Kristol, James Bolton, Zalmay M. Khalilzad, William Bennett, Dan Quayle, Jeb Bush, most of whom were movers-and-shakers in previous Administrations, then in power-exile, as it were, while Clinton was in the White House. But even given their reputations and clout, the views of this group were regarded as too extreme to be taken seriously by the mainstream conservatives that controlled the Republican Party.
But, in order to unleash their foreign/military campaigns without taking all sorts of flak from the traditional wing of the conservative GOP — which was more isolationist, more opposed to expanding the role of the federal government, more opposed to military adventurism abroad — they needed a context that would permit them free rein. The events of 9/11 rode to their rescue. (In one of their major reports, written in 2000, they noted that “the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event — like a new Pearl Harbor.")

Every American citizen deserves what is coming for being ignorant, stupid, arrogant or whatever reason, for allowing their government to commit all these crimes. Blame it on democracy.
